Family Information Service

The Early Years Framework (2008) states that; “We believe the way forward is for Childcare Information Services to become Family Information Services and act as a gateway for a range of advice that parents may need.”

A Family Information Service provides information on a full range of childcare services led by the needs of children, their families and carers.  Moray Childcare Partnership (MCP) will provide free information including childcare providers, pre school education and other services for families in the Moray area together with guidance on choosing appropriate childcare. 
MCP must provide impartial information on local childcare, early education and services relevant to families which respects the diversity of available provision. 

MCP aims to provide a high quality Family Information Service which will allow parents, families and children throughout Moray access to organisations they may require throughout their day to day lives. 

• Providing consistent and up to date information which responds to the needs and interests of children and their families;
• Ensuring enquirers are responded to effectively and timeously; 
• Ensuring providers and potential providers of services for children and families have access to the information required for their role;
• Ensuring employers looking for childcare for their employees have access to the information they require;
• Providing information for professionals working with families (i.e. Health Visitors, Social Work Staff, etc);
• Actively seeking and promoting partnership with other organisations for the delivery and development of the service;
• Promoting equality with a non-discriminatory attitude;
• Ensuring equality of access to services for all;
• Ensuring effective communications strategies are in place supporting the promotion and development of services.
